The Yellow Oriole is found in north Colombia, Venezuela, the Guianas and the extreme north of Brazil. It favours dry, scrubby areas and woodland.

Essentially a yellow bird, it has black round the eyes, a black bib, wings and tail. It also has white on the wing which you might just be able to make out in the photo.

The photo shows an adult feeding a youngster which is out-of-focus due to its wing-beating but you can get the impression of the olive- yellow colour of the immature.

There is an illustration in Hilty & Brown, Plate 44.
