Ecuador and Peru The White-chinned Thistletail is distributed in the Andes from extreme western Venezuela through Colombia and Ecuador to central Peru. It is found in shrubby undergrowth near the treeline and in Polylepis woodland mainly between 2,800 and 4,000 metres. |

It is distinguished by its greyish or white supercilium, its chestnut upperparts and its long tail. The iris can range between brown and white. | |||
