The Pink-legged Gravateiro is endemic to a very small area of south-east Bahia and north-east Minas Gerais in Brazil. It is found in the canopy of the Atlantic Rain Forest and specifically in those areas known as cabruca where the forest has been thinned and planted with cacao trees. It is classified as Vulnerable by Birdlife International .

It is dark grey in general with pink legs and a pink lower mandible. It has a pale grey supercilium and the tail is long and graduated.

Like many ovenbirds its rather untidy nest is built with twigs as can be seen in this video from the Internet Bird Collection.
