Rio Chonta, Cajamarca, Peru October 2018 The Grey-bellied Comet is endemic to a small area in the Andes of north-central Peru. See the distribution map at Birdlife International. It is found in semi-arid montane scrub at between 2,750 and 3,200 metres. |

Because of its restricted distribution and a population estimated at below 1,000 individuals it is classified as
Endangered.
It is not very vocal and its call is short and high-pitched. |
