It inhabits a variety of open grassland habitats usually near streams or rivers and often near human
habitation.
Some authorities classify it as a sub-species of Bar-winged Cinclodes Cinclodes fuscus albiventris but this species is redder above and paler below with a pale, almost white wing-stripe. Photo 1 shows an adult on the left just after feeding the juvenile on the right and photo 2 shows the juvenile. |
