Peru and Ecuador The Black-billed Shrike-tyrant has a large range extending from the south of Colombia to the south of Argentina. See the distribution map at Birdlife International. It is found in open areas in the Andes mainly between 3,000 and 4,000 metres but can be found down to sea-level in Chile. |

It is similar to White-tailed Shrike-tyrant A. albicauda but has a slimmer bill, a paler iris and less streaking on the throat. | |||
