| Little Raven Corvus mellori |
| Port Elliot, South Australia March 2006 The Little Raven is distributed in south-east Australia from New South Wales to the south of South Australia. It is found in a variety of habitats from woodland to farmland and cities where it is the common crow in Melbourne and Adelaide. |
| It is slightly smaller than the Australian Raven C. coronoides with a smaller, more curved bill and shorter throat hackles. The immature, seen in photo 3, has a brownish eye. There is an excellent table to help identify the sometimes tricky Australian crows at birdsqueensland.org. |
