| Australian Raven Corvus coronoides |
| Victoria, Australia February / March 2006 The Australian Raven is distributed in eastern Australia and south-west Western Australia. It is found in a variety of habitats from woodland and scrub to pastures. |
| It is distinguished from both Forest Raven and Little Raven by its shaggy throat hackles which are much longer than in the other two species. It also has a distinctive wailing, almost baby-like call. There is an excellent table to help identify the sometimes tricky Australian crows at birdsqueensland.org. |
