Australia February / April 2006 The Brown Thornbill is distributed in south-east Australia and Tasmania. In the interior it is replaced by the Inland Thornbill A. apicalis. It is found in the lower levels of forest, woodland and scrub. |

It has buff scallops on the forecrown, a reddish eye, large dark arrow-head streaks on the greyish throat and
breast, a tawny rump and a blackish subterminal band on the tail.
