| Murramarang NP, NSW, Australia March 2006 The Australian King-Parrot is distributed in eastern Australia from north-east Queensland to central Victoria. It is found in rainforest, eucalyptus forest, urban parks and farmland. |

| It feeds on fruit, nuts, seeds, flowers and is particularly fond of mistletoe, eucalyptus and acacias. The male has a bright red head and body with dark green wings with a light green band. The nape band is blue as is the rump while the bill is red above and grey below. The eye is yellow. |

| The female, seen here in photo 4, is quite different with green upperparts, throat and breast, a red lower breast and belly and a greyish-red bill. | ||
