The Giant Mole-rat is distributed in a very small area in the Bale Mountains of Ethiopia. Most Mole-rats live and forage underground but the Giant Mole-rat forages on the surface. This makes it vulnerable to its main predator the Ethiopian Wolf Tachyoryctes macrocephalus.
