Morocco and Spain The European Serin is distributed in most of continental Europe except Scandinavia and around the Mediterranean Sea in North Africa and the Middle East. See the distribution map at Birdlife International. It is found in woodland, gardens, orchards, etc. where it feeds mainly on seeds and flowers but can also hunt invertebrates. |

It is a small finch with a proportionately large head and small bill. The male in photo 1 is bright yellow on the forehead, face and breast while the female in photos 2 and 3 is much duller. | ||||
