| Kato Zacro, Crete October 2002 The Sardinian Warbler is distributed round the Mediterranean Basin. Some populations are sedentary while others migrate to north Africa during the winter. It is found in a variety of habitats from woodland to scrub mainly on islands or dry coastal areas. |

| The male, seen here in photos 1 and 2, has a black cap, white throat and a reddish-brown eye-ring round a reddish eye. Otherwise it is dark grey above and a lighter grey below. The female, seen in photo 3, has a grey head and is brownish rather than grey. It feeds on insects and fruit. |
