The Cream-coloured Courser breeds in Turkey, Iran, Afghanistan, north and east Africa. The more northerly populations migrate south during the non-breeding season. For a distribution map see Birdlife International. It is found in stony and sandy desert and semi-desert and semi-arid areas with some grass. It feeds mainly on insects and their larvae as well as seeds.
