The Grey-winged Blackbird is distributed in the Himalayas, south China and northern Indochina. It breeds in oak and other broad-leafed forest at between 1,800 and 2,700 metres moving lower during the winter.

The male is black with mid-grey to almost white wings (there seems to be considerable variation), an orange-yellow bill and narrow eyering and yellowish-brown legs. The female is pale olive-brown.

There are recordings on xeno-canto and additional information is available via Avibase.
