Perinet, Madagascar
November 2016

The Scaly Ground-roller is endemic to Madagascar where it is found in humid rainforest up to about 950 metres. See the distribution map at Birdlife International. Its preference for dark areas with dense vegetation and damp soils makes it difficult to observe.

Because of its low population of about 7,000 and the probability of future habitat loss it is classified as Vulnerable.
