Sanetti Plateau, Ethiopia The Lanner Falcon is distributed in Africa, south and south-east Europe and the Middle East. See the distribution map at Birdlife International. It is found in a variety of habitats but mostly in open, dry areas. |

It feeds mainly on small and medium-sized birds such as lark, pigeon and quail though larger birds such as ducks and francolins are also taken. Small mammals are included in the diet. |
