The Ethiopian Swallow is distributed in Africa south of the Sahara and north of the Equator. It is found in a variety of open areas often near water where it forages low or at mid-height.

Ethiopian Swallow, Praso River, Ghana, May 2011 - click for larger image It has a chestnut forehead, buffy-white throat and upper breast above a partial breast-band. Tail streamers are relatively short and there are small white patches on the tail feathers apart from the central pair as can be seen in photo 2.
