Kalakpa, Ghana The Pied-winged Swallow is distributed in West Africa from Senegal to Nigeria. It is found in wooded savanna, near rivers and human habitation. |

It flies low and fast with much turning and banking as it pursues its prey.
It is the only hirundine with long white patches on the upper wing. Otherwise it is glossy-blue above and pure white below. |
