Ethiopia The Eastern Yellow-billed Hornbill is distributed in East Africa from Eritrea through Ethiopia to Tanzania. See the distribution map at Birdlife International. It is found in dry bush and wooded grassland. It acts as a lookout for Dwarf Mongoose against birds of prey and, in return, feeds on insects flushed by the Mongoose. Photos 1 to 3 show females with black bare throat patches while the male in photo 4 has a pink-purple bare throat patch |
