Crossley's Vanga is endemic to Madagascar where it is found in primary evergreen forest on the eastern side of the island up to 1,800 metres. See the distribution map at Birdlife International.

This female has a white throat while the male has a black throat.

It forages in the undergrowth and understorey for spiders and insects.
