Awash Falls, Ethiopia The Blue-naped Mousebird is distributed in a band across Africa south of the Sahara from Senegal to Somalia and south to Tanzania. See the distribution map at Birdlife International. They are found in bush and woodland in semi-arid country up to 2,000 metres where they feed mainly on fruits and berries. They have a long, thin tail, a red mask, a black-tipped red bill and a blue patch on the nape. The call is loud and rather mournful. |
