Shai Hills, Ghana The Black-bellied Bustard is distributed in Africa south of the Sahara but is missing from most of the Congo Basin and the south-west. It is found in tall grassland and wooded savanna where it feeds mainly on insects. |

Only the male has a black belly and a black line running up the centre of the neck. The female is buffy-brown below with dark spots. | |||
