Large Red Damselfly Pyrrhosoma nymphula

The Large Red Damselfly is distributed throughout most of the British Isles and much of northern Europe as well as locally in southern Europe.

It is one of the first damselflies to be seen in the spring with the main flight season being from mid-May to July.
