The White-throated Sierra-finch is distributed in the Andes of southern Peru, south-west Bolivia and the extreme north of Chile. There is a distribution map on xeno-canto.

It is grey above with darker grey wings. Below it has a triangular white throat patch and a grey breast-band. There is a small white crescent below the eye.
