The White-crowned Pigeon is distributed throughout most of the West Indies, the Caribbean coast of the Yucatan and the Florida keys. See the distribution map at Birdlife International. It is found in semi-deciduous woods and mangrove swamps where it feeds mainly on fruits.

It is generally dark grey with a white crown and some iridescent green on the neck of the male. The female and immatures tend to be duller with greyer crowns. Photo 3 is probably an immature flying.
