Brazil The White-bellied Seedeater is distributed in central and eastern Brazil with adjacent areas of Paraguay and Argentina with disjunct populations in north-east Bolivia, at the mouth of the Amazon and in south Surinam. |

It is usually found in more open, grassy areas with scattered bushes and often close to water. It is mainly solitary or in pairs. In the male the bill is pinky-yellow, the upperparts are grey while the underparts are white. It also has a white speculum which is not always visible. |
