It is found in the Atlantic Rain Forest and is particularly associated with
Araucaria woodlands (Parana Pine) as it feeds on the seeds and uses the trees for nest holes.
It is classified as Endangered because of habitat loss, capture for the pet trade and human exploitation of the Parana Pine seeds. |
