The Sulphur-bellied Tyrannulet is distributed patchily in the Andes of Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador and Peru. See the distribution map at Birdlife International. It is found in humid forest and forest edges from 1,600 to 2,500 metres.

Note the all yellow underparts, the whitish supercilium and the buffy wing bars.
