The Snow-capped Manakin is distributed in Amazonia south of the Amazon and Madeira rivers from Rondônia to the Tapajós river and into north-west Mato Grosso and a small area in adjacent Bolivia. It is found in humid forest.

Male Snow-capped Manakin, Cristalino, Mato Grosso, Brazil, December 2006 - click for larger image The male has green upperparts with white crown, nape and rump. The throat and chest are olive-green while the belly is yellow.

The female is a similar green colour but has no white.
