Colombia and Peru The Plain-coloured Seedeater is distributed in the Andes from western Venezuela to Argentina. See the distribution map at Birdlife International. It is found in highland grasslands, páramo and puna at between 2,600 and 4,400 metres. |

The male is generally grey with a yellow conical bill and a chestnut crissum. The female, seen in photos 2 and 3, is brown above with dark streaks and buff below. | |||
