The Pacific Hornero is distributed in south-west Colombia, western Ecuador and north-west Peru. See the distribution map at Birdlife International. It is found in scrub, agricultural land and other semi-open habitats

Pacific Hornero, Chaparri, Lambayeque, Peru, October 2018 - click for larger image Some authorities regard it as a sub-species of Pale-legged Hornero F. leucopus but it is larger with pale rather than chestnut eyes, paler underparts and a grey rather than brown crown. The voice is similar but with less deceleration.
