The Orange-chinned Parakeet is distributed from southern Mexico through Central America to northern Colombia and northern Venezuela. There is a distribution map at NatureServe.

It is found mainly in drier woodland and is less common in forest canopy and forest edges. It feeds on fruits, seeds and blossoms in the canopy. I think this tree on which the birds were feeding is some form of Bombax.

It is a small parakeet, mainly green with a brown shoulder and a small orange patch on the chin which is difficult to see in the field but is just discernible in photo 2.
