| Colombia and Ecuador The Mountain Wren is distributed in the Andes from western Venezuela to north-west Argentina. See the distribution map at Birdlife International. It is found in forest and forest borders mainly between 1,500 and 3,500 metres.  |

| It tends to be more rufescent than House Wren T. eadon and has a bolder supercilium ranging in colour from buff in the north to white in the south. | ||||
