The Ivory-billed Woodcreeper is distributed in Central America along both coasts of Mexico and south to Costa Rica. See the distribution map at Birdlife International.

It is found in a variety of woodland habitats and is not so dependant on forest as most woodcreepers. It is probably more common in drier rather than humid situations.
