The Helmeted Manakin is distributed in central Brazil and adjacent areas of north-east Bolivia and north-east Paraguay. It is mainly found in gallery woodland in the cerrado grasslands as in this case.

Unfortunately, I don't have a photo of the spectacular male but the female shows the frontal crest and the long tail. This photo in fact was the first register of this species in the area of the Chapada Diamantina of Bahia.
