Pampas Flicker is distributed in eastern Argentina, Uruguay, southern Paraguay and southern Brazil, specifically Rio Grande do Sul state.

It is distinguished from Campo Flicker C. campestris by the whitish chin and throat which makes the malar stripe more pronounced.
