Tikal, Guatemala March 2015 The Eye-ringed Flatbill is distributed in Central America from southern Mexico to Panama and the extreme north-west of Colombia. See the distribution map at Birdlife International. It is found in upper and middle levels of forest and forest edges as well as secondary growth. |

It perches quietly and can be easily missed. It moves its
head looking for insects though it also eats berries and seeds. It has a broad, flat and massive bill.
Its vocalisation is a high-pitched scratchy whistle. |
