The Dusky-chested Flycatcher is distributed in the western and southern part of the Amazon Basin with a disjunct population from Surinam to Amapá. It is found in forest canopy and edges.

The head and upperparts are dark brown with no markings on the head or wings. Underparts are yellow with a whitish throat and dark olive streaks on the breast. | |||
