The Dusky-billed Parrotlet is distributed in the Amazon Basin. There is a distribution map on NatureServe. It is found in humid lowland forest particularly along rivers. They are noisy in flight but tend to be quiet when perched.

Dusky-billed Parrotlet, Carajás, Pará, Brazil, October 2005 - click for larger image The main identifying feature is the dusky bill which is a lighter grey on the mandible. The male has a blue rump and has blue on the wings but this can be inconspicuous. The female is all green.
