The Dusky-billed Parrotlet is distributed in the Amazon Basin. It is found in humid lowland forest particularly along rivers. They are noisy in flight but tend to be quiet when perched.

Dusky-billed Parrotlet, Carajás, Pará, Brazil, October 2005 - click for larger image The main identifying feature is the dusky bill which is a lighter grey on the mandible. The male has a blue rump and has blue on the wings but this can be inconspicuous. The female is all green.
