The Collared Araçari is distributed from Mexico through Central America to northern Venezuela and northern Colombia. See the distribution map at xeno-canto. It is found mainly in lowland forest and plantations.

They usually travel in groups of 3 to 10 individuals and are easier to see when flying or calling.
