The Cliff Flycatcher, as defined by Birdlife International, is distributed along the eastern slope of the Andes from Venezuela to Peru and in southern Venezuela and the Guianas. See the distribution map at Birdlife International.

Abra Patricia, Amazonas, Peru, October 2018 - click for larger image Most authorities lump this with Swallow Flycatcher H. bellicosa distributed in much of the rest of Brazil but Birdlife split Cliff Flycatcher because of its lack of a rufous rump, the white mottling around the face and some differences in vocalizations.
