Peru and Ecuador The Chestnut-breasted Coronet is distributed from the extreme south-west of Colombia through Ecuador to southern Peru. See the distribution map at Birdlife International. It is found in humid forest and forest edges on both the east and west slopes of the Andes. |

The rufous-chestnut underparts are the most striking feature but note also the straight, short bill and the small whitish postocular spot. | |||
