| It is found singly or in pairs on sandy islands, sandbars and banks on the rivers of tropical South America. The third photo has a Spotted Sandpiper Actitis macularia just behind the Pied Lapwing and shows the relative sizes of Pied Lapwing at 23cm (9") and Spotted Sandpiper at 18cm (7"). |
