It has bold lengthwise stripes of black and white both above and on the flanks. It is a very busy little bird creeping and darting along
branches looking for insects. I found it hard to get a good shot of it.
The scientific name derives from the Greek mnion = moss and tilo = to pluck, a reference to its supposed nesting material according to Jobling. |
