The White-plumed Honeyeater is found in inland river-channel eucalypt woodland throughout most of Australia except the north, the eastern coastal belt and the Nullarbor - Bight region in the south and west.

It is olive-grey above with citrine-yellow on the face, wings and tail. The white neck-plume sometimes has a dark band above. The immature (photo 4) has a bright yellow base to the bill.

Photos 5 to 7 are of the sub-species P. p. leilavalensis from the arid centre of Australia.
