Australia February / March 2006 The White-faced Heron is distributed in most of Australia except the arid centre, New Zealand, New Guinea and the south of Indonesia. It is found in wetlands, estuaries, shores and pastureland. |

It is a common small, grey heron with a white face and yellow legs. The immature, seen here in photo 6, has little white on the face though it has a whitish throat. | ||||
