The male, in photo 1, has a dark mask while photo 2 shows a female or juvenile with a duller mask.
The family of Cuckoo-shrikes has no relationship with either cuckoos or shrikes however the hooked bill seen well here in photo 2, is reminiscent of shrikes while the colouring is quite like that of cuckoos. |
