Australia The Spangled Drongo is distributed in northern and eastern Australia, Papua New Guinea and surrounding islands. See the distribution map at Birdlife International. It is found near coastal scrub, mangroves and open woodland where it feeds mainly on insects caught in the air. It is black with blue-green spangles on its head, neck and breast. The Drongo family is found in Africa and Asia with this being the only one of the 26 species to be found in Australia. |
