Pale-headed Rosella, near Kuranda, Queensland, Australia, November 2010 - click for larger image It is the palest headed Australian parrot with a white to yellowish head, white to lemon edges to black feathers on the back, pale blue underparts and red undertail coverts. This bird shows very little of the yellow wash which indicates that it is of the more northerly nominate race. The sub-species P. a. palliceps found south of Innisfail shows much more yellow.
